Accessibility Statement
This statement was last updated on October 1, 2026.
We at Green Rock Tavern are working to make our site Greenrocktavern.com accessible to people with disabilities.
What web accessibility is
An accessible site allows visitors with disabilities to browse the site with the same or a similar level of ease and enjoyment as other visitors. This can be achieved with the capabilities of the system on which the site is operating, and through assistive technologies.
Accessibility Adjustments on This Site
We have adapted this site in accordance with WCAG 2.1 guidelines and have made the site accessible to the level of AA. This site's content has been adapted to work with assistive technologies, such as screen readers and keyboard use. As part of this effort, we have also:
-
Used the Accessibility Wizard to find and fix potential accessibility issues
-
Set the language of the site
-
Set the content order of the site’s pages
-
Defined clear heading structures on all of the site’s pages
-
Added alternative text to images
-
Implemented color combinations that meet the required color contrast
-
Reduced the use of motion on the site
-
Ensured all videos, audio, and files on the site are accessible
Accessibility Arrangements in the Organization
Physical Location and Accessibility:
We want you to know what to expect before you visit. Our building is not currently fully accessible, and we'd rather be upfront about that.
Getting here: We're located on a corner in Philadelphia, with sidewalks on all sides leading to both our front and side doors. The corner has a fully accessible curb cut.
Entrances:
-
Front door: The threshold sits flush with a half-moon concrete step that is about 2 inches above sidewalk level.
-
Side door: Two full steps lead up to this door, so it is not accessible for wheelchairs or strollers. Step dimensions are as follows: 40 inches wide; the first step is 7 inches high and 20 inches deep; the second step that leads to the bar floor is 8 inches high.
Inside, lower level: Past the front door is roughly 18 x 8 feet of level floor. Seating on this level is high-top tables and fixed bar stools. The bar itself is about 3.5 feet high.
Restrooms: We have one ADA-compliant restroom, but both restrooms are located beyond a large step in the middle of the bar, approximately 40 inches wide by 9 inches high, so they are not accessible to wheelchair users without assistance.
Upper level: The upper level has a few booths with fixed seating and a small opening at the front of each.
Looking ahead: We're looking into ways to make our space more accessible and are committed to improving over time.
